Goal: My action research project is to determine if the online learning tool Moodle is effective in student learning in our Algebra II PreAP course. So questions I will study are: 1) Are the Moodle quizzes having a positive effect on class averages? 2) Do students feel this is an effective way for them to learn or process information? 3) Do students feel that these questions being online instead of on paper & pencil is better? 4) What else would students prefer to do online rather than traditional methods? | ||||

Your action research plan looks so neat and well organized. I have heard about Moodle at technology conferences and the schools that use it rave about it, I hope you have a similar experience. How do you plan to ensure you get quality responses from the students filling out their surveys? Have you considered a final interview with the students to get more information than a survey could get. I don't know if that would be too overwhelming with the number of students you have in your sample.
ReplyDeleteHey April I like your action research. I want to see how you use it in your Algebra class. Do you have 1:1 ratio of student to computers? Have you used Forums or Wikis for students to ask for help with problems? What is your biggest concern about using Moodle?
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could interview students to gain their perspectives about using Moodle and to let them tell you what they've learned. It's always interesting to hear from students' viewpoints.
